Can you tell I really liked this gift?? The baby's theme is Froggy. Kidlet #2 and I decided that since we had a Blue Kidlet (#1) and a Red Kidlet (#2) that we needed a Green Kidlet :) Mind you, that is how I buy all of their clothes, lol!!

Can you believe that skinny Christina just had that adorable baby last month??? I'm gonna look like that a month after Kidlet #3 makes his appearance!!

This toy scared the heck out of me!! I thought when you pulled the bottom it would play music, but instead it started shaking, lol!!

J also got a Mr. Happy book and condoms from his best bud Mitch!

Renee & Steve even got him ear plugs.

(I may have to steal those cuz I know for a fact he can sleep through a baby crying!!)

Kidlet #1's pet rat passed away. Poor kid was devastated. This was his first "real" pet and his best friend.

When we first got Jocelyn.

She later became known as Joshie

She had many adventures in our house! That is when I started calling her Houdini! She was always trying to get out of her cage (a few times she did manage it). She would some how get down off the dresser. Luckily the dogs never got her. I would find her visitng my office, my bedroom and the bathroom!! Used to drive me crazy, lol!! But over all she was a good pet for Kidlet. She would ride on his shoulder, keep him company and was always there to listen to him read a book to her.

These pictures were taken in December 2009. The last ones I took of her. From what it looked like, she suffered a stroke and it was hard to watch. It was even harder to watch Kidlet. He would cry, he would carry her around in her travel cage, he read to her one last time and finally she died peacefully at about 6:30 while he was watching TV downstairs.

So, today after school we will go to the pet store to see if we can't find her reincarnated ;)

01-28-10 First Concert

On January 28th, 2010, Kidlet #1 had his very first band concert. He plays the clarinet and is rather good. I say this because I have yet to have to wear ear plugs to try to cancel out the dying goose sound that I have been warned would result from a beginning clarient players attempts. We have never heard that goose's pleas in this household :) Thank Goodness!!!

He was so nervous the day before and all day Thursday. He even tried to get us to not go. He complained his stomach hurt both nights, he begged us to let him stay home, etc. I almost felt sorry for him, lol, but being the mean mom that I am I told him that we all had to go through this. I did every time I was on stage singing, but I told him that once I started everything was OK (well except for my graduation performance where all I wanted to do was cry). He just had to pretend he was in the cafeteria practicing. He over came all of his fears and later told me it wasn't too bad and that he played like a pro :)

I went down the hill with Kidlet #1 and forgot how much fun it was to go sledding :) I had to get to the bottom to take pictures. The trek up was slow, lol, but well worth it :)

You should have heard Kidlet #2 yell ALL the way down the 1st time. J & I were DYING of laughter!!!

No matter what, Kidlet #2 would come down backwards, lol!! We were so proud of him because he is VERY afraid of not having control (and heights) and he went down the hill about 7 times (he says).

After resting at the hotel for a bit we decided to go out for dinner. J took us to this place Clark's Fish Camp. Here are the kids next to the Julington Creek where they got to feed the fish and turtles.

Kidlet #3 loved the fried pickles!! I had to share, darnit!

They had all sorts of mounted animals all over the restaurant, but this one was my favorite!

Here are the Kidlet's all buckled up for the drive to Florida for Spring Break. We even had an adopted a Kidlet for the trip. Kidlet #3 traveled with us as part of project for one of the students I work with.

We stopped at a Flying J rest stop to buy postcards for the scrapbooks in Indiana.

We stopped in Franklin, IN for lunch and stretched our legs a little bit as well.

None of us had ever been to KY before so of course we stopped for a picture and postcards :)

We stopped in Dalton, GA for dinner at Chili’s. We were trying to find the Outback, but we got lost in Dalton and never found it. Turns out it was across the street behind some trees from the Chili’s!! We all laughed and thought it was too funny!!

Everyone but Daddy fell asleep after dinner. We made it all the way to Kennesaw, GA before we stopped for the night. We had driven most of the day. We had left home at 8:00 a.m. and we arrived at the Comfort Suites in Kennesaw at 11:00 p.m. eastern time. That’s 16 hours in one day with all of our stops! This was one of the only rooms they had, so Kidlet #3 had to sleep on the floor with Kidlet #2 while Kidlet #1 got the sleeper chair. But I got to sneak in a quick photo of Kidlet #3 in Kidlet #1’s bed to document his first night in a hotel room. Hee hee!

My co-worker didn't know it was my birthday on Monday so a few days later she brought me this cute little cake and cupcakes for the kids. Then my student brought two Popsicle stick stars that he made me.

Enough said in the title. He picked them out all on his own and he looks very handsome in them :) I was kind of worried since they are a bright blue in the sunlight, LOL!!

And for those of you who don't know, the week before he got a FM hearing aid for school for his right ear. Poor kid! And then he will be getting braces soon to boot!! But he has taken it all in stride and was even excited about getting both the hearing aid and glasses.

It was a very quiet birthday this year. I wasn't feeling up to celebrating much. I didn't even have them sing to me. The kids made me this awesome cake though! Kidlet #1 baked it all by himself. I only helped by pulling it out of the oven. They love to cook, but I am the one who is the chicken with letting them :) Kidlet #2 frosted it with 2 cans of frosting!! It was yummy though :)

This kid cracks me up!!

I still can't get over him being toothless.

I hate it when blogger does this! I can't rotate it, grrrr. Anyway, here is a color version of the German Chocolate cake with mountain peaks of frosting.

OK, I guess it is time for another marathon blog update according to my BFF J.B. :) Granted I don't think it has been long enough since the last post for the marathon, but.......

Kidlet #2 loves to go to the Principal's office to build with her blocks. She leaves his creations up until he is done (can take up to a week!), then he knocks them down and starts over. She spoils him so much!! We are going to miss her next year while she lives the life of a young retiree!

Funny story....

We went to Fogo de Chao with the kids after the car show. They LOVE this restaurant!

Well, if you saw the car show post you'll hopefully remember how I told Kidlet #2 to not wiggle his two loose front teeth. Well during dinner we looked at his mouth and a tooth was missing!!! I guess while eating it came loose and he swallowed it not realizing it, LOL!!

He was a little sad that the tooth fairy would come now :( However we kept an eye on the other one and finally decided that Dad would take him to the restroom to pull it out before it got swallowed too! Yes, Dad took this picture or maybe Kidlet #1 did, but eeewwww gross!!

We all had ice cream to celebrate :)

And now I'd like to introduce Toothless!!!
Of course Dad had to take a picture of Mom, ughh!!!

The next night Kidlet #2 wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining what happened and received $5 for his teeth :)

02-15-09 Chicago Auto Show

The first order of business for Kidlet #1.

He had been asking to make them at home for weeks! Mom has no idea how!!

Kidlet #1 loved this car. We even sat inside the regular Hyundai Genesis and priced it out.

I am thinking he wouldn't be smiling like this if he was really falling from that parachute!

OK you can tell this one grew up in front of the camera!!!

In order to see if the trunk was large enough, Daddy put Kidlet #2 in it, LOL!

02-15-09 Chicago Auto Show Part 2

The Army had a rock climbing tower. J said the magic words (you're strong enough) and off I went with Kidlet #1 in tow. While I was harnessing up I was told that the record was 10 seconds. I laughed it off cuz there was no way I'd beat that! I did, however, do it in less than 15 seconds!

Kidlet #1 got some good shots of my rear as I was climbing and repelling though!! Ugh!!! Next time I need to tell him to take them from the side, LOL!! We got to see Bumblebee from Transformers and a little movie on how they built him for the auto show.

All the while, Kidlet #2 was in line to play Mario Kart Wii. He wanted his chance to win the prize. He was in 1st the whole race until right before the finish line!! He was so disappointed :(

Here is Kidlet #2 with his teacher. I stayed up late the night before Halloween (2nd year running!!) to finish his costume. I should have saved last year's Lego costume, but the detail on this one would not have worked with the left over glue from the Lego.

Kidlet #1's costume of course is what caused me to run late with Walle. I had to hand stitch this one (like last year's). These darn Pokemon are killing me!! This year he was Mudkip. Good thing he thinks his mom is the greatest mom ever :)

My work team decided we needed to all dress like cowgirls. My entire class kept calling me Sacajawea and getting down on all fours to bow to me. I was ready to strangle each and everyone of them, LOL. But, I do have to admit I looked more like an Indian guide than a cowgirl! Isn't the neighbor kid cute here?? His classroom is next door to mine.

09-26-08 Daddy's Birthday

Thanks to one of Daddy's cousins getting married the following day (our anniversary too) Daddy was able to have some of his extended family at a gathering for his 34th birthday :) He had a lot of fun!

Little sister #2 I found out was leaving the state the next morning to start a new job. I knew it was coming, I just didn't know the date. I was glad to be able to have this last night of fun with her. I really am going to miss having her around!!

Kidlet #2 wanted to help with making dinner. I was going to make BBQ Chicken so I let him season the chicken. I wish I would have had video of this because he went through every step and saying how you needed to cover all of it first with the olive oil and that you couldn't miss any spots.

I was worried that some areas might not get seasoned properly or that it would get over seasoned, but Kidlet #2 is a great chef and the chicken turned out yummy!!!

We surprised the kids with a trip to a water park in WI. We had a ton of fun and since it was overcast it was pretty empty! This 1st picture is of Daddy and Kidlet #1 riding the Sting Ray. At first Kidlet #1 said he was scared because of the big drop, but then he enjoyed the rest of the ride. Kidlet #2 and I didn't even attempt this one.

I packed a lunch (which became dinner) and we ate at the car. Good thing I found parking in the second row from the entrance, LOL!!

Kidlet #1 and friends made a mini lake that they sat in most of the day. We had to keep reinforcing the walls and refilling it all day, but at least they had fun :)

Yes, that is correct! A baby possum came to visit one evening. The kids from the neighborhood had managed to chase it into our yard. Poor little guy was so scared when Daddy found him. He stayed put just long enough for me to take a couple of pictures, then he ran for safety as we held the kids back.

Ah and yes, today, October 20th, 2008 is major catch up for the blog again, LOL!! I hope you enjoy the new pictures and stories!!

08-05-08 Kid Toy & Book Sale

The kids have been nagging at me to have some sort of yard sale. I am not one to sit outside while it is humid to peddle my wares, but I gave in to helping set theirs up :)

We put up two signs, one at the corner and one right in front.
And they even wanted to sell Kool-Aid so we set up a table for that too :)
They will be splitting what ever they make (that is if Kidlet #2 would stop giving things away for free, LOL!!)

Well we have added one more to the zoo!! Kidlet #2 wanted to get a rat as well so now we have Brat #2!! She is very hand shy because she has never been handled (was destined to be snake food, but is now safe in our home).

Brat #1 was a bit jealous and every time I tried to pet Brat #2 she would come up and crawl under my hand for pets, LOL!
In some ways I feel bad that Brat #2 belongs to Kidlet #2 because he is still too young to have a pet of his own, but we read that rats need to have company so it is always best to have two rats.

Kidlet #2 had his first day of summer school today. Thanks to a grant from the state each child attending is picked up by a school bus from in front of their home. He was so excited about getting to ride a bus to school (even though the school is only 3/4 of a mile away).

The bus was late so he asked -

K - Mom was the bus ever late when you went to summer school?

M - I never went to summer school.

K - Was it late when Brother went to summer school?

M - Brother never went to summer school either.

K - Well that's not fair! How come I have to go to summer school??

M - Cuz you goof off too much during school and you missed a lot of days when you were sick.

Can you tell he knows that's the truth from that smile??

I was busy telling him to hurry because he was late, LOL!

Grandpa B and I took Kidlet #1 to Six Flags. Kidlet #2 stayed behind at Grandma's because he tries to be brave, but my poor little guy is terrified of roller coasters or anything that goes fast!

Kidlet got on this ride twice. Once with me, sitting in a different car per his request, and once alone, cuz heck if I was going to get on it twice!

07-29-08 Accidental trip to Madison, WI

As we were leaving the Zoo, my navigator broke down (Grandpa B, LOL). Since I never saw the exit we were suppose to get off on I can only figure that we were going the wrong way on the freeway. I finally stopped at a gas station to buy a map. I figured since we were going west we would hit something I recognized and just head south. Madison was only about 60 miles west of Milwaukee and I told Grandpa B that it would be fun to go see the state capitol of WI.

Above was the backside of the capitol building and below is the left side of it.
We walked down the street from where we parked on the left side of the capitol building and found an Unos Pizza place. Kidlet #2 ordered a build-it-yourself pizza :)

The waitress took it back to be cooked after he was done dressing it.Kidlet #2 wanted so badly to pose in this on the way back to the car!
The reason I don't have picture of the front of the Capitol Building and other side was that as we were leaving those two sides were blocked off by the police. I saw evidence markers on the street and sidewalk and we can only guess what might have happened! No wonder there were TV crews all around!

07-29-08 Milwaukee County Zoo

Grandpa B and I took the Kidlets to the Milwaukee County Zoo for their birthday. It was a load of fun and the kids had a blast.

This was the first time I had seen bird eggs up close and in real life. They were so shiny!

Ugh another picture out of order! This is the lost kid picture I take before every outing. Gotta love their t-shirts! Kidlet #1's says "Be thankful I'm not your kid" and Kidlet #2's says "Today's a whole new day to mess things up!" I actually think that both are more fitting to Kidlet #2, LOL!!
Oh I had to take this picture! The gorilla up front was born March 21st so we called him Uncle W after my favorite Uncle :) It was kind of funny though because he seems afraid of his older brother (the one in the back) so I named him after Grandpa B, LOL!!

07-27-08 The Birthday Party

So the Kidlets celebrated yet another birthday. I tell them they need to stop cuz they are not supposed to get big!!

Here is there ugly cake! I got talked into this by an elderly lady you just couldn't say no to at Sam's Club. But, I figured that the kids really wouldn't care as long as it was 1) decorated with their decorations to match their theme and 2) that it was edible!!

Kidlet #2 had Wall*e and Kidlet #1 had Pokemon.

The kids picked out these crowns at the party store and the deal was that they had to wear them for the entire party if I bought them :) Such handsome princes!!

It was a bowling party, hence the reason there are not many pictures. It was cosmic bowling to make matters worse with the picture taking.
The gifts! I tried to make them wait until we got home so nothing would get lost or mixed up, but no such luck! Of course a couple of things got mixed up, but it wasn't too bad :)

When our hostess was giving out the token bags I almost got run over by 22 kids, LOL!! These guys made out like bandits with all these tickets!

OK I'm not going to fix this (too much work, LOL) but this picture should have been at the top. The kids got pizza and all you could drink pitchers of soda. For as many kids as we had the party was great and pretty calm :) I would do it again in a heart beat!!
I still can't believe they are 9 & 6!!

07-25-08 A Brat Bath

A little blurry, but Kidlet #1 was laughing too hard to take a clear picture as I tried to hold a wet Brat, LOL!! Kidlet #1 came up to me saying that Brat needed a bath. I rolled my eyes and dreaded that he was serious! So I looked up how to give a rat a bath on the web. It said to use the kitchen sink, filling up both sides with water, one to wash and one to rinse. So I filled up her little travel cage to dunk her in to wet her and lather her up with dish soap (this makes for one slippery rat!!!). In between laughing I was trying to tell Kidlet to take pictures. Well online it said that you could also rinse the rat under running water, just make sure it wasn't too hot. OK I have given kittens, cats, puppies, dogs, babies and kids baths so that could be too hard, right?? OK she really hated the running water, LOL! I was holding her right above the travel cage that was filled with water and the turkey slipped out of my hands and went head first into the cage full of water, LOL!! Now online it said to be careful not to get the head or ears wet! So now I am rolling with laughter (Brat probably didn't appreciate it much) and telling Kidlet #1 that we truly did have a "drowned rat". So here she is all soaked and temporarily wrapped in a towel. She escaped again onto my counter! I stuffed her into her travel bag that I had made for her and she stayed on my lap inside the bag until she was all dry. Talk about an adventure!!! The only reason I did this instead of letting Kidlet do it was for fear of her hating it and trying to bite Kidlet. Well at least I know she won't bite so next time it is HIS turn to give HIS pet a bath!!!

07-18-08 Little Sister #2's Birthday!!

She had to pick one of the most expensive restaurant's in Chicago, but I am glad she did :)

We had dinner at the Signature Room in the John Hancock Building. It was very nice and the food was wonderful!

The desserts were to die for! We ordered 4 desserts that came on a large plate so we could all sample them. I liked my choice the best :) the Blueberry Cobbler.

I am sad we didn't get a group picture though since we had all dressed up for the occasion.

We were kind of worried about Brat today. She managed to fly off the top bunk with her exercise wheel. She had help just in case you were wondering. From what I have managed to gather from Kidlet #2, the neighbor kid was helping Brat "learn" how to use her wheel and made it go too fast propelling it off the top bunk, Brat and all!! All the kids thought she was dead because she wouldn't move, but then after a minute she was up again, but her breathing was really labored. Well she is now better ( I hope) and is as active as usual.

A new member to our zoo!! Oh I meant family :)

Meet Brat, OK that is not her real name, but then if you have been reading this blog, I never use real names. Kidlet #1 decided he wanted to use his allowance to buy himself a pet. Well the Brat was cheap but then we needed all of the accessories and cage! Well he is now in debt, LOL.

She is really a sweet little thing and Kidlet #1 has been working hard to train her to stay on his shoulder or ride in her fleece bag that I made for her. It has been kind of fun to make little fleece tunnels, pillows, etc for her. We were kind of scared there for a few days because she had been breathing rather loudly, but it looks like it is getting better.

Yes, he is actually reading out loud to the dog. Our library has a program where children can sign up to read to a therapy dog. They read for about 15 minutes. Kidlet #1 read beautifully from a book about Chihuahuas. Like a lab really wants to know about a rat :)

Alli, I think her name was, jumped up so fast when her trainer (who happened to be a teacher at the kids' school) whispered cookie, that we all laughed. The only movement I had seen from her until then was to stretch out from me to pet her more.

Kidlet #2 graduated from Safety Town!!

Kidlet #1 went to Safety Town twice, so I guess next year Kidlet #2 will go again. This helps mom believe that they know something about safety, LOL!!

This program is actually really cool and the kids have loads of fun. They learn about fire safety, water safety, First Aid and poisons, road safety, search & rescue and home safety. They have the police, fire department & search & rescue come out to talk to the kids as well. For the water safety they take them to the local beach.

Again, aren't they so cute!!!???!!

07-06-08 Chicago Adventure

OK let me just say that in all the years we have lived here and as many times are we come to Chicago I have never ventured down town on my own with the boys! Kidlet #1 was due to spend the week with Grandma and wanted to go a day early. After calling Grandma to make sure it was OK we headed to Chicago on the train. I love taking the train (OK most of the time so long as we don't hit any cars or get stuck on the train for some unknown reason!!!). I decided along the way that we would have an adventure down town. Of course Kidlet #1 doesn't really like adventures especially when his back pack is full of clothes and he has to carry it, LOL. I managed to talk him into going to Navy Pier to have lunch. Granted I could have gotten Mc Donald's cheaper anywhere but Navy Pier, but oh well. As we sat outside eating I was looking at the tour boats coming in. I asked if they wanted to go on a 30 minute tour on the lake. Kidlet #2 immediately said yes, you can tell he is my child but Kidlet #1 said no, you can tell he is Hubby's kid :). We played the 2-1 rule on him and he had to go. It was a double decker boat and Kidlet #1 wanted to go on the upper deck in front. I tried to talk him into the middle of the boat so we could see more. Well since we were first in line I compromised and we sat on the lower deck (where there was shade) in the front. I think that was the best place we could have possibly picked! Here they are sitting in their chairs as we waited to launch. We were sitting right behind the bow and you can see part of the skyline behind them. Don't you just love their shirts??

This was pretty much how Kidlet #1 stayed for the whole tour, LOL! So much for not wanting to go on the tour!

I think this is called the Chicago Light House?? I can't remember off the top of my head, but it sits out at the edge of the bay next to the opening that leads out to the Lake.
This is my favorite picture of the summer so far. We were getting slashed a little by the waves when we picked up speed. Check out that hair, LOL!!
Oh look another picture of me :) Kidlet #2 took it all by himself :) Not too shabby! But of course it looks like I am trying to choke Kidlet #1, LOL.

Kidlet #2 wanted me to take this picture of the pirate ship as we were coming back into port. It is called the "Windy".

The Odyssey is a yacht that takes you out on the like for dinner cruises. I really want to do this. Maybe for our next anniversary Hubby will surprise me with a dinner cruise :) Hint Hint!!!
Once off the tour boat, Kidlet #1 spotted a "Tattoo" place, LOL.

07-04-08 Independence Day in Iowa

For the 4th of July we went to Iowa. Here the kids got to do some body art. Ack!! Cover your eyes he's half naked!!! Now if you know Kidlet #1 well you know he gets easily embarrassed and this was a sock for me to see him so comfortable without his shirt on :)

OK you should all be so lucky that I didn't take my camera to swimming lessons this year, LOL!! I did take the camera one day but only took pictures of them playing in the sand and this great one of Kidlet #2 actually jumping from the raft!! He was always too scared to do it so he would sit on the edge and just slide in. Today he got up the courage to stand up and jump!

06-26-08 CL Gala

The boys had been excited all week that the Gala was coming. Every day we passed the site on the way to drop Kidlet #2 at Safety Town. Finally I decided to take them on opening night since Hubby was out of town and he said he didn't really want to go over the weekend. I have started to take pictures of them at the beginning of a trip like this where a crowd will be just in case I lose one of them. Let's pray it never happens, but you never know. And don't they look so cute hugging each other in their excitement??

Kidlet #1 went on this Free Fall ride several times. I got them the unlimited ride bracelets so he would get off and then run to the line again and get right back on. There was always a seat for him since he was alone :)
Kidlet #2 wanted to ride the motorcycles.
I was surprised that Kidlet #1 wanted to as well.
See how Kidlet #2 is hunched over on the motorcycle?? He rode stiffly like this the ENTIRE ride. Not sure if he was scared or if he was thinking he looked cool, LOL!!

Somehow Kidlet #1 talked us into getting on the Himalaya with him :)

The first weeks of summer I tried to take the kids to every park near by to find the best play area. Needless to say this one was a disappointment since it was at the largest park in the area. The spinning thing was the only fun thing in the entire play set. Kidlet #2 freaked out a little bit the first time he tried it, but once he got the hang of it he was fine.

String Bean here doesn't have much clearance anymore because he has stretched out so much!!
Took me a bit to convince them to go on it together so I could get a picture, LOL.

After one of Kidlet #1's baseball games Daddy took him on his very first motorcycle ride! He had a blast!! If you click on the picture you can see his smile under the helmet. And doesn't Hubby look so sexy on his motorcycle?? :)

So you don't freak out, Mom, the school is only about 3 blocks away so it wasn't a very far ride.

Here are the pictures of my bedroom. OK it looks like something a teenager should have, but I like how bright it is even if hubby doesn't. I just figured that the rest of the house is all dark colors that this would be a great refresher for me and it is. I can veg, read and relax in here with my feet propped up on the bed. I just need to find a way to cover the chair until I can get a new one to match the brightness :)

I absolutely love my dragon flies. I had wanted the pink butterfly too, but by the time I went to buy them they were all sold out of the butterfly :(
I was nice to hubby and gave him the green/blue side of the room, though I have managed to take over that side since he has started traveling, LOL!!
I need to take a new picture of the closet with the curtain ironed, LOL!
Here is my pink side :) I did find a blanket with the same color hot air balloons on it that my girlfriend from TX gave me years ago. At least the chair isn't so black anymore and it is great cuz it leans back far enough for me to prop my feet up on the bed while I read.

04-25-08 Open House

Amazingly we didn't get any pictures of Kidlet #1 during open house. Must have been because when we got to his room he was running back and forth to ALL of the attractions on his list, LOL!! Kidlet #2 was so proud of all his attractions. We got to see all of his projects and even got to bring home his sunflower seedling.

Here he is with his teacher. He loved her so much and she thought he was the cutest little thing. Yeah so cute and the class clown I am sure, LOL!!

04-08 Through 06-08 National Little League

Both Kidlet's wanted to play baseball this year. I was really surprised that Kidlet #1 wanted to but he turned out to be in the top three for batting on his team and loving almost every minute of it! Kidlet #2, who I thought was the natural athlete was well, let's just say he would rather talk to his coaches in the outfield and pick flowers, LOL!!! Kidlet #1 played on the Minor II Astros and Kidlet #2 played on the Rookie (T-Ball) Reds. I was not prepared for the 2 practices a week at the beginning for each kid plus games!! Then with Daddy traveling through most of the season each kid had to miss some practices while the other played in a game. Thank goodness Daddy was home on the weekends for the times where both kids played at the same time on opposite ends of the field!! I loved being out there with them and of course I was one of the more vocal parents, LOL!! Should have been a cheerleader!!!

Here they are on opening morning. We had to be at the field by 7:30 and it was cold and drizzling!! Then I found out after being there that it was optional to go, LOL!!

Kidlet #2 couldn't see out of his helmet for the 1st half of the season, LOL! Then he got his own helmet and we learned to prop it up with his ball cap.
Kidlet #1 regularly made a base hit. We found out though that he had to wear his lucky batting gloves or he wouldn't make it to first base! It was really kind of funny, LOL! He lost one gloves at one point so I had to buy him a new set when we found out that we made it to the finals!! We couldn't have him getting out in the finals!!
During this game he got hit in the head with the ball as it was getting thrown infield and he ended up with a massive nose bleed. Of course this was the beginning of the season and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get all that blood off his shirt, but the spirits we with me and got them out, LOL!! He managed to make it back out to the game and make a double!
Both kids loved to play catcher. They thought it was the cushy job and not have to move! This is Kidlet #2 in over sized catcher equipment.
I swear after this game at the end of the season Kidlet #1 had the brightest smile on earth! We had made it to the second round of finals and found ourselves playing the first place team. We had pretty much a 1st year team, so we were in 8th place out of 10, but we had made it this far! We lost the game 5-8, but they played the best game of their lives. Alex got his second game ball for hitting a triple that gained 2 RBI's and getting a runner out at 2nd base the following inning that stopped them from scoring anymore on us. It was an exciting game and I had lost my voice after all the screaming and yelling.
Here is Kidlet #2 with his coach and his son after getting his trophy at closing ceremonies.
It felt like forever for Kidlet #1's closing ceremonies to start. They both had to be there by 7:30 AM because Kidlet #1 had his skills competition, which I missed because I was at Kidlet #2's closing ceremony, but Daddy was there to cheer him on.

Oh these following pictures should have come before the trophy pictures but oh well. Here is Kidlet #2 with my sunglasses in outfield. He would walk off the field to come complain that the sun was in his eyes right in the middle of an inning, LOL!! So I finally gave him my glasses so he would stay out there!
Kidlet #2's coach set up for his team to play the Majors top 1st place team who were in the finals. These older kids were great with the Rookies. Each Rookie hit and the older boys would over throw or miss the ball so everyone could make it home. The Rookies won and were so excited that they beat the big Majors.
Kidlet #2 deemed it necessary to slide (face first) into home plate during this mock game, LOL!!
Completely dirty but so proud of himself!!
The Majors even signed autographs for the Rookies then posed for a nice group picture.

Easter Sunday was pretty quiet in our house. It was so cold that the Easter Bunny left the baskets inside by the front door this year so they wouldn't get frozen!

Of course I had to take pictures with my babies. We tried to get Daddy in the pictures but he didn't want to :(
Kidlet #2 picked out pink polo shirts for him and his brother to wear for today. I figured he'd go for the blue ones or maybe different ones, but he liked the idea of matching his brother.
I think this is my favorite picture.
Since it was so cold outside we decided to just color our egg shells today. Maybe we can crack them in July for their birthday, LOL!! It is never warm enough here to enjoys the confetti eggs on Easter.

You know, if it weren't for my BF in Utah I would never update this blog, LOL!! So here we go from Easter to current date, so Mom when Bell Pepper Season is done you will have loads to catch up on :)

03-15-08 Visiting with Tio

Daddy's Tio came for a visit at Grandma's house. While Grandpa B and I went to see the George Washington Carver exhibit, the Kidlet's stayed with Daddy to visit. After Grandpa B and I returned we hung out at the house until Daddy was ready to leave. Here Kidlet #2 borrowed Grandpa F's glasses. He looked so cute with them on, LOL!! Good thing the perscription part was on the bottom where his cheeks are!

Here is Daddy with Tio and the Kidlets :) Of course Kidlet #2 had to make a face like usual!!
